Wall hanging hooks are an easy and effective way to help you stay organized. They can be used to hang keys, coats, bags, hats, towels, and even decorative items, freeing up valuable space.

They are also easy to install, requiring only a few basic tools and materials. Wall hanging hooks come in a variety of designs, colors, and sizes, so you can find the perfect solution for your home.

This post could provide a detailed guide for how to install wooden wall hooks correctly, safely and round off your home renovation.

It includes tips for finding the right placement, choosing the right hardware, and ensuring that the hooks are securely anchored to the wall.

  1. Check The Type of Wall

Before you take any measurements, you need to check the type of wall you plan to install the hooks on. Each of our hooks come with fixing screws and wall plugs to allow installation to solid walls or for other projects. And we also offer nail-free adhesive for some walls that cannot be drilled.

Some common types of walls in the home:

If it is a white wall, latex painted wall, diatom mud wall or wallpaper wall, then you have to drill holes for installation. This is because on these types of walls, the glue and hooks will be stripped off.

While the tile surfaces, glass surfaces, metal surfaces, and wood surfaces can be installed with nail-free adhesive.

  1. Measure And Mark The Wall
Once you have identified the wall type, you will need to decide how many hooks to install and where to install your decorative wall hooks.

Measure the distance from the top of the wall to the ceiling, the distance from either side of the wall, and the distance between each hook. This way, you can ensure that the hooks are evenly spaced.

Once you’re happy with your measurements, mark where you’ll be drilling or applying the adhesive. Mark by either drawing on the wall with a pencil or using painters’ tape.

  1. Drill The Wall And Add The Plugs

You will need to make sure the hardware is level and secure. If you are drilling holes, use the appropriate size drill bit to make sure the screws fit snugly into the wall.

And make sure you drill a hole that’s deep and wide enough for the wall plug. Then give your plug a gentle push into the wall. You may find you need to give the wall plug a light tap with a hammer to get it all the way in.

Wall plugs are small fiber or plastic inserts that are essential to supporting the weight of an item you’re attaching to a wall. They expand to securely grip the sides of the hole you have drilled, and will help to hold the screw in place without damaging your walls.

  1. Install The Hooks

Finally, attach the hooks to the wall. If you’re installing a hook that has a hole for the screw start by putting the screw through the hole and lining it up with your plug. Once it’s almost entirely attached, make sure the hook is level and straight before you drill the rest of the way to tighten it.

If you are using adhesive, apply it to the back of the hook and press firmly against the wall.

  1. Do A Strength Test

Then, let the adhesive dry for the recommended length of time before hanging any items. Strong wall hooks are key to making sure that whatever you hang on your walls stays put. Before hanging up anything important, do a quick strength test and make any adjustments you need so it’s as secure as possible.
